  Christmas Candy Gift Tin
by Tomilyn Lane

This  candy is a very easy and inexpensive gift to make.
The tins are available at the dollar store or if you look ahead you
can pick them up at yard sales during the year for 25-50 cents each.  Any size or shape tin can be used.

Shop around for the cheapest candy also.

Just fill your tin with foam or styrofoam, something that will hold
the picks and lollipop handles.

One idea is to buy styrofoam balls that fit right into the tops of
round tins.  Use 1/2 a ball for each tin, making a slightly rounded shape.

Then use shredded paper, green Easter grass or whatever as filler to cover the top of the ball or whatever you have inside the can.

Next, just arrange your candy on top.  Small, wrapped candies can
be stapled or wired to florist picks or just hot-glued on top of your filler.  Lollipops can be stuck right into the foam.  Candy canes can also be stuck right in, but be careful not to break.

You can glue the lid of the tin to the back of the arrangement or leave it off altogether.  You can also tie a pretty bow around the whole thing.  Or you might like to wrap it all up in plastic wrap and tie a big bow at the top.

These make great gifts for teachers, co-workers, your hairdresser, mailman, etc.
